Bringing a World of Expertise to the Farm

Change is a part of life! But for agricultural producers keeping up with industry changes, technological advancements and trends can be a daunting task. This is where the Farm Leadership Council (FLC) is uniquely positioned to help!

Through the investment in new and innovative technology, resources and tools, the FLC has created a mechanism whereby Canadian producers are provided a very unique opportunity to engage global industry experts and top producers from the very comfort of their home office. The initiative is called Advanced Producer Networks (APN) and the goal is to create an EASY and CONVENIENT way for producers to participate in meaningful dialogue with topic experts and a new network of leading producers. No longer will producers be required to take valuable time away from their farms or their family to learn how to better manage their operations. Instead, the FLC will assist groups of like minded producers to create their own topic based networks. The producer based leadership group of each APN will determine how and when the live discussions and presentations will take place. The result will be greater access to relevant and timely information for Canada’s producers. And rest assured – there will be lively discussion!

FLC is a producer-led organization that supports producer innovation and leadership in Western Canada by providing professional development opportunities and training to help farmers maximize the value of their operations.

Created in 2005, the FLC has developed a reputation of being an impartial, independent third-party service provider delivering high quality education and skill development programs to producers. After 5 years of hosting hundreds of learning events to thousands of members, the FLC is embarking on a new path, one that will see it embracing new technology to deliver exciting new learning opportunities. In keeping with our co-operative background, we invite all industry stakeholders to participate in this exciting new initiative. Through the leveraging of both technology and supporting networks we can collectively respond to the current and future needs and interests of Canada’s producers.

While there have been many changes in the industry, the vision of the Council has remained the same:

“Improving the Business of Farming!”
