Agriculture thrives on connecting and clustering around relevant topics.
In May of 2010 an e-blast survey was sent out to producers and producer organizations. 349 producers took time to complete this survey and provide input on what they obviously felt was a very important topic. From that survey, the Farm Leadership Council developed a new model of delivery and determined what topics producers felt were relevant.
The Farm Leadership Council's new model will:
- Link through partnerships with other not for profits, sponsors, government, centers of research, and of course, farmers.
- Create Advanced Producer Networks that share in a specific topic area.
- Ensure that everyone in the industry has a voice that is heard.
- Be the channel where information and resources flow from ones that have it to the ones that need it.
Sometimes the information needs to flow deep within the cluster, and sometimes it needs to flow between clusters. The Farm Leadership Council has identified the need to create linkages within the industry from resources already created.
Technology is enabling The Farm Leadership Council to start important conversations that will create a common ground for agriculture to move forward into the future.
